May Day Basket Swap
Great fun was had by all. The pictures in the flickr group say it all. Artsymama hosted a basket swap and I was fortunate to be able to join! My swap mate sent me an awesome basket. One decorated jar was full of yummy chocolate and the other had ribbon galore. I especially liked the long string of ribbon rose buds. So fun to open and display.

thrift towels
I ran into Goodwill Friday for just a second between trips to several stores shopping for my oldest daughter's Jr Senior event. I was elated when I found these. They are not my colors but I absolutely could not pass them up. Hopefully I will find a cool swap and send them to someone!

Me and Mrs. Beasley
I haven't been thrifting lately and I am having withdrawal syndrome! NO pictures of cool stuff so I thought I would post this picture. I loved "Family Affair" !
When is enough, enough.....?
I think the color combination on these are neat. I simply cannot resist retro/vintage/awesome goodies!

Hi,
Well it was a sad day yesterday. I have been praying for the families.
We have a University here that my oldest daughter is going to apply for when she graduates from High School next year. It made me think of that beautiful campus and all the local people that attend. It would be very traumatic for our whole community.
The Today Show had a segment featuring cell phones that could transmit a warning within two minutes. That is one of the best advances I have heard of.
On a lighter note I made some Art Tags. Michaels is having a huge sale. I got some neat stickers yesterday.

Coffee Cups from Thrift Shop
I really racked up on Saturday. I found these. They say Japan on the bottom and are really heavy and good quality.

Yellow is back on the scene
I found this neat bird on ebay for just 7 dollars plus shipping.......It's the plus shipping that gets ya every time! It is by Haeger I have a few things from them. I love the simple lines. Sort of retro feeling. WalMart had all Easter leftovers at 50 percent off and so i got this plate to match the bird. I put all the yellow together and came up with a little display. I got the fabric from my Grandma.

Good Bye Easter Decor
Well I am in a quiet mood this morning....LOL,,,, I must put all my Easter decor away. I will miss it so!!!! I may hit some stores and ck out marked down goodies for next year. Hobby Lobby had a few neat things left. I did not buy an egg tree. I really want one. Maybe I will luck out. I did paint a little twig..... not the same. I ended up just putting an ATC card on it. I was pleased.

Birds and Such
I bought this neat fabric recently, there was not much left of it. I was actually planning on making a round pillow with a big button in the center. I decide to use it as a back drop for taking a picture of these colorful birds I bought yesterday. I am in love...........It may never make it to a pillow....

I have been away.
Dr and Mrs. Chestin Joseph Boudreaux
December 24th 1940
My Grandpa who lives in Louisiana, was very sick with blood clots in his leg. He just turned 86 and was admitted to a heart hospital on his birthday. My Grandma turns 87 this month.
I went and stayed with her while my mom went back and forth to stay with My Grandpa. They are Cajun and speak french. So much fun and full of life. I love to hear stories about them growing up. I will post a picture of them on their wedding day. They have been married over 60 years. My Grandpa is an Optometrist and still sees patients when he can. My Grandma was a consummate cook and always had a house full of visitors when she cooked.
