Ben Franklin and Gurley Candles

I bought a rather big book on Ben Franklin by Walter Isaacson. On the next aisle at Good Will I happend on two Gurley candles. I have never seen any in person only on blogs. I got them both for 1.91.

I also found these three green planters. I decided to put a single flower bud in each one. I am bringing Spring indoors with these.

Memory Card Matching Game Milton Bradley 1966

I just happened on this Milton Bradley Memory game from 1966. I go to Salvation Army twice a week .
I look for books, dishes, vintage lingerie and fabric. We are on a first name basis. I paid a wooping 99 cents and I was so excited because the illustrations are for the most part awesome. Alice and Martin Provensen are one of the illustrators.
I'm either going to frame them or glue tiny clothes pins on the back and display them on wire.

Valentine Conversation Heart Topiary

I love a good Topiary every once in a while. I made this with 3 inch foam ball painted pink, wooden dowel rod, deer moss, and Valentine candy.... Lots of hot glue and luckily no burns. I bought the cute planter for 4 dollars at the Antique and Merchandise Market here in Valdosta. If your local it is 407 N St Augustine Road in the old Valdosta Flea Market Building. I have a booth there stop by sometime.

Be Mine Cutie Pie

Getting ready for Valentine's Day...... I love the "subway art" that people are doing. I think it looks neat in the vintage frame I found.

Just tip me over and pour me out

Found this Santa Pitcher recently. My family has not warmed up to him at all. Our two dogs are not big fans either. I guess he will make a short trip to Very Vintage Antiques Mall and Gifts In Quitman Georgia. I know someone will want to take him home!!!!

White Gloves and Party Manners

TITLE: White Gloves and Party Manners

AUTHOR: Marjabelle Young and Ann Buchwald, Illustrated by Christiane

PUBLISHER: Robert B. Luce, 1965

Treasure I found yesterday. I am trying to slow down on thrifting. My husband is relentless with his "hoarding" comments!!!! Of course we all know we are collecting and not hoarding.......:)!

You Counted Right "17"

I found these last week. They are in great shape. I actually had "Penny Candy" growing up. The original price sticker on it was 20 cents.

I watched H.R. PUFNSTUF, in retrospect I am not sure why. I wonder where Witchiepoo is????
Have a great day!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Thrifting has been rather strange these past few weeks. It is either feast or famine.

Something I have never done is buy an old year book. I got one for 75 cents because the pages were so beautiful they can be framed. The "Virginian" an all girls school for teachers had this first beautiful page.

I happened on these neat juice glasses at the same place but weeks apart.......

Then we travel to Denmark for this cream and sugar combo.... Lundtofte Stainless/Rosewood Sugar Creamer Set!! So easy on the eyes.

Who can resist and Irish Setter PINK apron??????? Not me I'll tell you!!! Not me!

Awesome bookends "Created by Earl Bernard Made in Japan."

Something I really struggle with is being all across the board with my likes!!!! Oh to be just a lover of,,,,, Let's say "Shabby Chic" or ultra modern, or simply Kitsch!!!!!! Guess it is just not gonna happen.

XO

Your such a Dreamy Dish!

I found these two dish patterns that I have seen on blogs, but never have had the opportunity to buy . The modern one is Syracuse Carefree China Jackstraws, and the pine cone design Stetson (1946-1966). This pattern is called “Blue Pine Cone”, but the color is more the very retro color turquoise. If you click on the close up picture you can see all the colors in the pine cone. So well done!

tall sculpted porcelain art Asian Man

I found just one of these. I would have loved to have found both. The set is on Ebay in a green color. I think this is so dreamy!! The hydrangea in the background don't hurt his allure either!!!
