Blue By Me....

Blue goodies.
I finished my project from Sugar and Spice ezine. I made conversation heart candy look a likes with Grafix ink jet shrink flim. I used the oven at 325 and it only took around 3 minutes for them to shrink to perfection. I added them to a necklace I already had.

I attempted another faux cupcake and the more I did the better I got at it. I have never used an icing bag or anything by Wilton and poof I iced a cupcake.....

My Last blue idea was this thrifty frame with K and Company Serendipity Grand Adhesions, butterfly, and Together warm floral, chatter box paper.

It is unusually cold here in South Georgia, as it is around most of the country. We have not seen snow since the early 1980's, and I doubt we see any this go around. I have been in the house more and have been thankful I had some fun projects to work on.

That's right it is made of secret ingredients and will last a gazillion years, similar to a twinkie.....

Thanks to Sugar and Spice Ezine I am a faux baker!

Lois Long linen towel and the rest of my collection

I have several linen towels which I love and probably cannot part with.
I found the Lois Long owl most recently. The Christmas blue and Green is so fun. Irish Linen is the best! I washed one I found, and was surprised to see how bad it looked after. I should have used trusty Google to get advice on the "How to wash linen?"I don't recommend washing them if you want to admire them......

Philippe Deshoulieres Canape Plates "Oh My"..

I found these at a "dive" I go to. I wonder how they got there? I knew they were expensive (60.00 on ebay right now) and not vintage. Had to have them and the price was right......

Also found these "Stetson" dishes. I am now on the look out for more. I really like these and will keep them.

Happy Hunting!

New Year's Calls

Neat graphic from greenpaper.typepad.com she has a cool website.

New Year's Calls...............Me to organize, organize and organize some more....I am pretty sure part of that will be throwing away and bringing goodies to Salvation Army. I like to bring my things there. I find that it goes right to the people that need it. I think the vouchers they use are perfect for meeting the need.
One time I went in and a very destitute family was there picking out things. Salvation Army was very low on kitchen items and it made me stop and think about not(hoarding)keeping unused things.
Speaking of hoarding, that seems to be what Robert calls my Thrifting. For the record they are two entirely different things. Can I get a witness???????????????

Not for the Faint of Heart aka Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

One thing I am going to do is organize this front room. I took all the boxes out that were empty, step one. Step two get help from my "Sleeping Beauty" daughters to carry them out. Step three work my fingers to the bones. It is a do or die situation ! LOL ........ not really, but I have to think of it that way.

Thank you for reading my blog,

Everything AND the kitchen sink

Well, I am finally tackling a wreath with vintage pastel goodies. I snapped a shot of the collection that is growing. I realized the kitchen sink is in the background. That is sort of how it works for me. The counter is a good height for my short squatty body....and the lighting is good. The main obstacle is I have to put everything away before the house fills up with the fam.......I must have..... I need..... I want.... MORE pastel goodies so I am headed out the door.

Lovely Crewel on Linen from the 70's?

Or Could it Be 60's???? I found this beauty and it was sort of dusty so I read all about cleaning these type needlework pieces and I opted to vacuum it and it worked great. I used the attachment meant for furniture. I could tell a big difference. I am learning as I go and that is what makes thrifting so fun!!
