Portait of Princesse Albert de Broglie, nee Josephine-Eleonore-Marie-Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Bearn (oil on canvas, 1853, at the Met). Painted by jean auguste dominique ingres....I thrifted a book and started reading about jean auguste dominique ingres. This is my very favorite, honestly it looks like a photograph. The shadows on the dress creases and the chair upholstery are phenomenal. To me this is the best of both worlds, thrifting+book= fun!
That is utterly stunning, the clarity of the photo is great.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting me and staying. You have some great images on your site. xx
Just found your site and wanted to stop and say how much I've enjoyed my visit! Love the Ingres dress - so very lifelike! The sheen of the material is unbelievable. Reminds me a bit of the paintings of another favorite of mine - Fragonard, especially his "La Balancoire."
ReplyDeleteLook forward to visiting with you again soon!
Have great week,
Nora:)
