Yellow is back on the scene

I found this neat bird on ebay for just 7 dollars plus shipping.......It's the plus shipping that gets ya every time! It is by Haeger I have a few things from them. I love the simple lines. Sort of retro feeling. WalMart had all Easter leftovers at 50 percent off and so i got this plate to match the bird. I put all the yellow together and came up with a little display. I got the fabric from my Grandma.

It is cold here in South Georgia. I put up all my Easter goodies and I am decorating anew. My Mom gave me these neat nest for Easter. I just put them out and decided to do a bird butterfly theme .

Well I am in a quiet mood this morning....LOL,,,, I must put all my Easter decor away. I will miss it so!!!! I may hit some stores and ck out marked down goodies for next year. Hobby Lobby had a few neat things left. I did not buy an egg tree. I really want one. Maybe I will luck out. I did paint a little twig..... not the same. I ended up just putting an ATC card on it. I was pleased.

Birds and the Beads

I am loving this color combination. I got the birds at the dollar tree, and the little blue there too. Hobby Lobby had all their Easter Decor 50 percent off, so I got the garland made of beads and the egg cups were super duper cheap. I love it all together............

Birds and Such

I bought this neat fabric recently, there was not much left of it. I was actually planning on making a round pillow with a big button in the center. I decide to use it as a back drop for taking a picture of these colorful birds I bought yesterday. I am in love...........It may never make it to a pillow....

My Grandpa who lives in Louisiana, was very sick with blood clots in his leg. He just turned 86 and was admitted to a heart hospital on his birthday. My Grandma turns 87 this month.
I went and stayed with her while my mom went back and forth to stay with My Grandpa. They are Cajun and speak french. So much fun and full of life. I love to hear stories about them growing up. I will post a picture of them on their wedding day. They have been married over 60 years. My Grandpa is an Optometrist and still sees patients when he can. My Grandma was a consummate cook and always had a house full of visitors when she cooked.

Mimzy

My Daughters went to see Mimzy the movie and brought these back. I jazzed one up! According to them when asked "What did you think about the movie?" they replied. "It was weird." I don't think either one will become a Movie Critc .... I guess it would have been two thumbs down?????

Books Books and More Books

Well as Jimmy Carrey would say "Somebody Stop Me!" I cannot pass up books lately. I found these and unfortunately Melinda put her name in RED on almost everyone. I am seriously thinking of selling them on E-bay. These are really awesome. I had never seen these before. I got these bunny pics today and this vase.

The Day Pastel Colors Ruled the World

Yesterday was quite fun. I rambled along and looked for pastel goodies. The paper choices were over whelming. I got 5 sheets. The neat little flower goodies will be fun to use. I also tried my hand at crepe paper and put it around a little container and put some peeps in it....The scrapes of trim are neat. The white one is my fav.

Artist Trading Card

I did this real quick like,,,,, yesterday. I can't cut a straight line to save my life. I need some primo scissors. I was reading a blog and noticed a person's favorite crafting item was her scissors. I wonder if she was on a deserted island would she bring those or her mascara?????

I have seen so many pillow cases, on flickr that when I saw this one I could not pass it up. I love the colors and it is way soft. The best of both worlds!

Pollen Abounds

Everything around South Georgia is pale yellow. For people with allergies,,,,like me it is no fun. I did however have fun thrifting......I got this cute hat for 1.50..fun fun. It is by Kate Mack.

Plate

My mom has 12 of these. They say Taylor Stone Taylor Smith and Taylor. Pattern name is "Cathay". A grocery store gave had them as a special purchase. I think they are COOL!

Thrifting goodies

This past Friday was a perfect day to look for treasures.
My Mother and I spent the day checking out area thrift stores. We went into a new one and found several kitchen utensils for just 25 cents apiece. One that we found is a mystery. We don't really know what it's use is..... The three I got were neat. The pitcher is so neat. I love the simplicity of it!

Thrifting and found this owl spoon holder

which I would say falls into the kitsch category for sure. How the spoons actually line up or even if they are the original ones perplexes me.....It just cost a dollar and makes me smile!

The cute puppies need some fixing up. I tried to Google info about them but came up empty handed.
