Christmas Card Fun and Frivolity

I love old timey Christmas Card graphics. Old-Timey
adj. Having aesthetic or intrinsic characteristics that bring to mind things that are generally old-fashioned.

I found some today for just 75 cents and had fun looking at them. I decided to scan them.

All Things Fish

We went to the Atlanta Aquarium last weekend. It was spectacular. We bought tickets online and parked at the CNN Center and walked over through Centennial Park. It was a breezy sunny weekend. No thrifting was done so I will have to do some catching up.

Wow Summer was a whirl wind and now school is in and things just seem to fly by!
I scanned the above picture today. As a result of getting Facebook and getting back in touch with college friends. I dug out a wedding picture that had two of my husband's fraternity brothers in it. I will get back to picture taking and blog hopping soon.

My brother and my youngest daughter and a big pile of fried Louisiana Catfish in the condo at Port Saint Joe Florida.

Being on Vacation is great don't get me wrong. The only problem I see is keeping my mind focused and not thinking of the routine when I get home...So live in the moment is my goal!!!

Princesse Albert de Broglie

Portait of Princesse Albert de Broglie, nee Josephine-Eleonore-Marie-Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Bearn (oil on canvas, 1853, at the Met). Painted by jean auguste dominique ingres....I thrifted a book and started reading about jean auguste dominique ingres. This is my very favorite, honestly it looks like a photograph. The shadows on the dress creases and the chair upholstery are phenomenal. To me this is the best of both worlds, thrifting+book= fun!

Double Rainbow

It rained the other day and I grinned when I saw the Rainbow. I followed it and when I got home I could faintly see another one right on top.

Green in this shade is so retro to me. I am not sure if these are "Vintage" but they caught my eye.

Hodge Podge...A mixture of dissimilar ingredients; a jumble.

I love old fabric and trim,.....Calgon take me away! It makes me dizzy.......

Aren't these graphics cool! I got a laptop so my husband was transferring all my data to it. I am sitting typing on it now, we are going out of town some next month so I wanted to be able to take my computer with me. I want to learn digital photography software. I think I am going to go with Photoshop elements. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear from you.

Summer Lovin

Summer is here and I am enjoying the slow down in our schedule. I posted some pictures of different projects I have been having fun with.
1. I took some pink seam binder and sewed pearls on it and gathered it around the neck of the bottle. 2. Marie Antoinette picture...I printed a copy of the picture on transfer paper then ironed it on sheer fabric and layered that fabric over musical note paper. I had the old vintage frame and wha La .....3. I found this way cool art deco feel plaque with this beautiful quote, I just love it. 4. I taped the edges on one side and painted it gold. The underside is the more dark colors and is in near mint condition. I am going to use it to hold Christmas goodies.
